Writings of Saint Lucia, Ghana and life in general. A Peace Corps Volunteer in St. Lucia, visiting faculty in Ghana and grandma for life.
This is a look back at the details of my travels and a document for my grandchildren. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
This blog does not express views of U.S. Peace Corps, Webster University, my family, dog or any institutions named or linked to these pages. It's life observation as I interpret it.
Merry Christmas Karen, I'm getting ready for bed, after three days with mom, grandkids, kids, friends, and lots of eating. I was thinking of you and hoping you are not lonely for family during this time. Have you decided when you would like to have visitors? I think Heidi still wants to come with me. I'd like to come when it is convenient for you and we can stay for a week. Is that OK? It was pouring ran here today, and the gale force winds. Have you thought about renting the cabin out? My family would love to go and stay for a weekend. We would take very good care of it too. Think about it and let me know if you would consider it, and if so, how much would be fair. The boys could come too and we could have a great time all together. It would be Kim and Bob and Katie and Courtney, Tommie and Michael, their two kids and my sister and me. The kids could sleep in sleeping bags on the floor. Or, maybe its time for you to for a visit. Anyway, like is ok, wish you were here. Love, Linda
Linda - would love for you and Heidi to come. Let's take a look and decide when the best time is based on the weather. It's very cool now - we are having our "winter". I will get back to you. I want you to be comfortable. How fun! Of course you can use the cabin. We'll talk.
I had a very nice Christmas. I'm looking forward to getting back to my "village" routine now.
Go to: www.cabi.org to find out how CABIs Global Plant Clinic Saved Christmas on Saint Lucia.
CABI's Global Plant Clinic has been instrumental in diagnosing a disease devastating the Christmas tree population in Saint Lucia.
A team from the Global Plant Clinic, diagnosed a fungal disease wreaking havoc on the evergreen tree species Cupressus lusitanica (White Cedar) commonly used as a Christmas tree on the island nation. ----------------- I had a great Christmas with Jamie at Canter's Deli. We wandered Beverly Hills later and took some artistic shots of an old historic park (across from the Beverly Hills Hotel). I am hoping to spend a wonderful New Years with my family on this side of town. We don't drink, smoke or do drugs but we can still manage to trip some tourists when we're at the Grove! Pointing and laughing at them after they fall is always the cherry on the top!
I am mending well and get my stent removed on January 5th; I hope NEVER to have one again. Wish me luck.
Hello to all and take care of yourself Island Girl.
